Program
The holiday offers the possibility to visit two beautiful Tuscan towns as Siena and San Gimignano and to discover some flavours of real Tuscan cuisine.
Program:
Day 1: arrival of customers in the morning (h11.00) and guided tour of San Gimignano. This tour is made to give the visitors the opportunity of seeing this Middle Ages Tuscan gem city through its history, art and local flavours. The visitors cross its main streets as well as the tiny, little alleyways normally hidden to crowds to end the visit with the Town Hall and its Art Gallery. The climbing of the Great Tower is a breathtaking view over the surrounding countryside. Lunch in a restaurant in San Gimignano. After lunch, you will visit the museum "San Gimignano 1300", a reconstruction (on decorated ceramic) of the city how it was in thirteenth and fourteenth centuries.
After visiting the Museum, transfer to Siena. During the trip (about 35km), you will stop in Monteriggioni to visit the fortified medieval village, built to guard the entrance to the territory of the ancient Republic of Siena.
Arrival in Siena, accomodation in hotel, dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Breakfast at the hotel. At h10.15, tasting of cake at the historic Pasticceria Nannini, in via Banchi di Sopra (the main street of the city). Then at h11.00 meeting with the guide in Piazza Il Campo and guided tour of Siena. this tour touches all the historical and cultural landmarks of the town. From the world wide famous Piazza del Campo where the Palio horse race takes place, to the historical building of the Monte dei Paschi bank, to the Tolomei palace or the Chigi Saracini one- now a Music Academy. Not to mention the church of San Domenico, Santa Maria della Scala Museum or the Cathedral Santa Maria Assunta. After the tour, lunch in the restaurant and end of our services.
